About Us

Who we are

RSCDS Cheltenham was started in 1958 to provide classes in Scottish Country Dancing in the town. Some 65 years later we are still an enthusiastic group who enjoy Dancing Scottish together.

As well as being a branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society and furthering their aims of promoting Scottish Country dancing and music, we are a registered charity in our own right with the aim of teaching and promoting participation in Scottish Country dancing and all the benefits which come with this activity.

What we do

We run a series of classes for all abilities which provides an opportunity to improve our dancing technique and style and knowledge of dances. By increasing our confidence we can enjoy the social dances we organise throughout the dancing season (September-June) as well as those organised by local groups and groups further afield.

Our Committee

We are run by an elected committee who work with our RSCDS qualified teachers to ensure the smooth running of the classes. We also organise a programme of varied social dances to give an opportunity for dancers of all abilities the chance to dance together.

The committee would like to stress that they are always open to new ideas and help in organising events is always welcome. Please discuss any ideas with a committee member or use the Contact Us form.
